When Cheryl came for her initial consultation, I didn't know what to expect. Over weight and wanting to start taking care of herself and her health, her mind set was exactly where it should be; learning to make healthy choices to improve her overall health. I discovered she was serious, made lifestyle changes I suggested, and after a short 6 weeks, she had amazing results! Slightly disappointed in only 6 lbs that dropped, the measuring tape told a different tale! Cheryl lost 4 1/2 " off her waist, 4 " off her hips, and 2" off her thigh... with similar losses at other points with a total of 16"! She obviously continued to live the healthy lifestyle at home! The best thing she said to me was "If my results were really good, I was going to treat myself to a chocolate bar after I left, but now I don't want to!"
When Courtney came to me, she suffered from what most women do after having a couple children; low esteem, low energy, and low on the priority list. Having been a victim of repeat yo-yo dieting, permanent, long lasting changes had to be made; I wanted this to be a lifestyle, not a diet and exercise plan that she would stop when she got to her "ideal" weight. Though progress seemed slow, it was important to make little changes to reverse the damaging results of yo-yo dieting. Making small changes over time would make the transition to a healthy lifestyle tolerable and maintainable.
In 5 months, Courtney's weight has dropped 11 lbs, though an accurate number is difficult to determine as resistance training adds lean tissue which is denser than fat. And though all her measurements have decreased, the most dramatic has been a loss of 6 1/2" off her waist, and 3" off her hips.
Though Courtney is still a little ways from her goal, her increased energy, happier moods, and the fact that she will now wear a short sleeve t-shirt is a great start for a journey that will last a lifetime!
Season, like so many others, is a wife and mother of 2 young children. As what typically happens, she was last on the list- children, husband, and housework coming ahead of her own happiness and needs. After hitting rock bottom, she took a gun-ho approach and, along with my training sessions, took Muay Tai for a month.
In the last 3 months (and 10 days, if you want to be exact) Season has lost 9 1/2 lbs (again, an accurate number is difficult as the composition has changed) but has lost 5" off her waist, 1 1/2" off her hips and 2" off her thighs.
As our training continues, we're making constant improvements; diet being a major factor, as well as ramping up the intensity. I know we both look forward to continual improvements that will be easily maintained.
